Jealousy: Love or Insecurity?

Hello, #indiaunited friends. I trust you are happy and enjoying your day. Happy day. Welcome to my blog.

Love is an affectionate feeling towards an individual or thing. Love comes with some qualities such as commitment, trust, care, honesty, and warmth.
On the other hand, jealousy is a feeling of uncertainty and insecurity, especially when one is nursing a sense of losing something dear or close to their heart.

In relationships, love is an important virtue to help the relationship flourish. However, that does not guarantee the smooth sailing of the relationship. From time to time, challenges may come in different ways, but those spices of love will help partners get through each challenge and learn from what happened to keep moving.

However, jealousy can cause problems in a relationship when it is not handled and nipped in the bud. Jealousy can happen when a partner becomes overprotective and controlling. When this happens, the partner will begin to live in fear, suspicion, doubt, assumptions, and uncertainty. If not checked, it will escalate to dishonesty, lack of trust, and manipulation. When these red flags become persistent in a relationship, that relationship can degenerate into violence and abuse because there is no trust left in the relationship.

I think humans have that pinch of jealousy, but it depends on how we control it. I had a friend at the university that I was so attached to. We went out together, lived in the same lodge, and did things like twins. I always protect her interests and won’t allow anything to come between us.

My Friend And I At The University

At some point, she started missing our lunch times and Saturday strolls because of her niece, who gained admission to the school, and she was helping to sort out her registration. She tried several times to explain her situation, but I became jealous because of the way she talked about how the niece was just the best thing that had happened to her and kept blushing over her. I felt disappointed and uncertain about our friendship and picked a quarrel with her each time she wasted time during lunch or didn't show up as usual.

Anyway, at the height of it, I had to seek help with the sisters' forum, and it was resolved. Though it took time for us to heal and get back into the friendship, the former smooth sailing was lost. We managed to continue, but gradually, things cleared up, and we graduated happily together and married our different partners.
