Hip dysplasia can cause serious problems and can lead to the paralysis of the rear legs in dogs. Even though it is more prevalent in larger breeds, I still took Nelson for a screening. He is only 8 kg, but we have an active life and we run a lot. Therefore, before any serious problem could develop, it is recommended to check for hip dysplasia in smaller breeds too if you are serious about any kind of dog sport.
