Life is about choices: Making the best decision is a necessity

It is hard to be committed to something we do not have an interest in and it is also hard to stay committed to a cause when there are other things that we prioritize.

Such was my case when I gained admission into the institution where I study now, I planned to join the school football team and make the school proud like I used to do in my teenage years.

I did not see any signs of that coming to pass because I hardly passed the football field talkless of going there to watch them play which would give me the chance to associate with them, I only had one path which was the path from the school gate leading to my class and vice versa.

During our last exam, one of my coursemates approached me and told me he was trying to organize teams for a friendly match and asked If I was interested, Of course, that was a sign my dream was going to come true and the first step to making my dream come true.

I went to the market to buy the jersey, boot, and other football kits I was going to need in preparation for the day we were going to play the friendly match. As you can see in the picture above I kit up.

During the match, the first thing I noticed was that I get tired easily which was a result of not engaging in exercise for a very long time, I almost lost my breath while running so I had to reduce the way I ran, the match made me realize my weak spot and what I need to work on which I was very eager to start along with my teammate.

The match ended in a draw and I was looking forward to the next match but life happens.

On the day of the match, I had work to do online so I could not partake and I also had no time for the training they were doing I started losing interest again, not because I do not love playing football but because I had to prioritize my work more...

Some of those on my team ended up playing for the school and I was left behind due to my lack of commitment in their training and matches. That was how I used my hand to kill the dream I nurtured but I had no regret.

It was either my job or football and a man can not live by playing football and going for training unless he is lucky enough to become a star footballer who plays internationally and the odds of that are thin, I gave up football during my teenage to pursue a career and I won't give up on the career now that I am making waves because of football.

At times in life, we are left to make some tough decisions and we must always make the best one for us, even though in this case, it was not hard for me to decide on the one I was going to stick with which was my job.
