2oz Silver Shield of King Henry II de France / Reblog lottery
There are some very elaborate silver pieces produced, and this has to be one of them. KOMSCO is know for their specialty stackable products, and this one is certainly an eye catcher!
History of The Shield
The stacker is based off the designs found on the shield of King Henry II de France. It's said the designs for this came from Etienne Delauney, Jean Cousin the Elder, and Baptiste Pellerin, who were all well-known artists of their time.
The king's shield was created in 1555, and is made of steel, silver and gold. It is 25 inches tall, 18 inches wide and weighs around 7 pounds.
The Design
The shield depicts the Battle of Cannae, in which Hannibal and the Carthaginians dealt a crushing defeat to the Roman army. (Source)
This same depiction is said to parallel between France and its struggle against the Holy Roman Empire at the time. (Source)
Obverse
The level of detail KOMSCO is able to pack into such a small space is impressive!
Reverse
If you look at the back side, you'll notice it's not flat. The image on the back is a reverse impression of the front. If you were to buy more than one, you could stack these on top of each other because of this!

Note: Some countries may have prohibitively expensive shipping or delivery, which may not be feasible. I reserve the right to award the winner 4 HBD instead of a Goldback at my discretion.
