Greetings again, dear Beer community! In response to our usual #BeerSaturday challenge, this week I'm bringing you a review of a beer whose centennial version I reviewed in a previous post. It came in a can and was prepared in a very unique way. So, for this contest in its week #427, I first want to invite my good friend @alfrin to this brilliant beer initiative, and second, I want to share the reason for this post, which is a review of the oldest commercial beer in my country, Venezuela: Zulia beer in its bottled form.

In the Caribbean, and particularly in Venezuela, we don't have that division between beer lovers in cans or beer lovers. Here we are a country of tradition, and we love beer par excellence when it comes in bottles. Not only for its elegant presentation, but also for the artisanal background that surrounds bottled beer, which immediately impresses us here in Venezuela when we appreciate a beer that comes in this type of presentation.

The other aspect worth highlighting is that we love our beers very cold, just like you see above with that frosty coating on the bottle, which for us here means it's at its best! We have a special name when we manage to chill these beers to this point: Dressed as a Bride. With that said, I met up like every Saturday night with my Discord and Splinterlands friends to talk about the game's news and challenge each other to some duels. So I'll get ready to open my beer and have a good time with my hiver friends.

The bottled version is really hard to find in Caracas. I've already mentioned this before. Beer distribution in the capital is firmly dominated by the main brand in Venezuela, Polar. To give you an idea, I had to ask my cousin in another state for some empty Zulia beer bottles. This was the only way I could get a liquor store to sell you Zulia-brand beers. If you don't have the empty bottles, you'll have to drink the beer there and return the bottle. That's why I was so excited to share with my friends that I was finally able to get the beer in this version. Unfortunately, while I was taking the picture and welcoming my friends, the beer lost its ice and quickly began to lose its coldness, so we poured it quickly. Wow! The flavor is truly delicious and very foamy! I didn't expect anything more from this Pilsen-style beer.

With this first beer we begin to awaken the palate, now comes the detailed tasting with this second beer and this time I did maintain the cold chain to enjoy it as it should be.

Returning to the topic of our passion for bottled beer presentation, if there's one objection I want to make about the presentation of the latest brands that have been coming out in recent years, it's their presentation in colors other than dark amber—that is, seeing transparent, blue, or, in this case, jade green bottles. It's not just a matter of aesthetics that I hate those bottles, but also a biochemical one! An amber bottle is the best option when it comes to avoiding light oxidation of hops, so packaging a beer in transparent, blue, or green glass bottles means you have to drink it immediately because storing them is a sure sign that your beer will quickly suffer from light oxidation. I'm sorry to point out this detail, but as a biologist, I can't avoid these details, especially when it comes to my favorite alcoholic beverage.

Well, friends, now I can say that I have fully enjoyed this wonderful pilsner beer. It has an alcohol content of 4.5 and is very cold. I have decided to increase my rating for this beer brand. I had given it an 8/10 for its canned version, but I give this version an 8.5/10. It is refreshing, very smooth, has a moderate alcohol content, and is noticeably foamy. My conclusion is simple: if you're going to try this brand, make the effort to get it in a bottle and prepare it in its "wedding dress" so you can enjoy a true gustatory experience. Atendiendo a nuestro acostumbrado llamado al concurso #BeerSaturday challenge, esta semana te traigo la reseña de una cerveza de la que reseñé su versión centenaria en un post anterior que venía en lata y la cual fue preparada de una manera muy particular. Así que para este concurso en su semana #427, primeramente quiero invitar a mi buen amigo @alfrin a esta genial iniciativa cervecera y segundo es traerles la razón de este post, que es la reseña de la cerveza comercial más antigua en mi país Venezuela: la cerveza Zulia en su presentación de botella.

En el Caribe, y particularmente en Venezuela no tenemos esa división entre los amantes de la cerveza en lata o cerveza, aqui somos un país de tradición y por excelencia nos gusta la cerveza cuando viene en botella, no sólo es por su presentación elegante, sino por todo el trasfondo artesanal que pesa sobre la cerveza en botella que inmediatamente nosotros aquí en Venezuela apreciamos una cerveza que viene en este tipo de presentación.

El otro aspecto que hay que destacar es que nos encantan las cervezas bien frías, tal cual como la estas viendo arriba con esa cubierta glaseada en la botella que para nosotros aquí significa que esta en su punto! Tenemos un nombre especial cuando logramos enfriar estas cervezas hasta este punto: Vestidas de Novia. Con esto dicho me reuní como cada sábado en la noche con mis amigos de discord y Splinterlands para hablar de las novedades del juego y retarnos en unos duelos, así que prepararé todo para abrir mi cerveza y pasar un buen rato con mis amigos hivers.

La presentación de botella es realmente difícil de conseguir en Caracas, ya lo había comentado antes, la distribución de la cerveza en la Capital esta férreamente acaparada por la marca principal en Venezuela que es Polar, para que te hagas una idea tuve que pedirle unas botellas vacías de cerveza Zulia a mi primo en otro estado del país, solo así fue la única manera de conseguir que una licorería te venda cervezas en botellas marca Zulia, si no tienes los vacíos de la botella tendrás que beberte la cerveza en el mismo local y devolver la botella. Por eso estaba tan emocionado de compartirles a mis colegas que finalmente pude conseguir la cerveza en esta presentación, lamentablemente mientras tomaba la fotografía y le daba la bienvenida a mis amigos la cerveza perdió su glaseado y rápidamente comenzó a perder el frío así que nos la servimos rápidamente, y wow! el sabor es realmente deliciosa y muy espumosa! No esperaba mas de esta cerveza tipo Pilsen.

Con esta primera cerveza comenzamos a despertar el paladar, ahora viene la degustación a detalle con esta segunda cerveza y esta vez si mantuve la cadena de frío para disfrutarla como debe ser.

Volviendo con el tema de nuestra pasión por la presentación de las cervezas en botellas, si hay una objeción que quiero hacer sobre la presentación de las últimas marcas que han estado saliendo estos años y es su presentación en colores distintos al ámbar oscuro, es decir, ver botellas, transparentes, azules o en este caso verde jade. No es sólo por una cuestión de estética que odio esas botellas, sino también bioquímica! Una botella ámbar es la mejor opción cuando se trata de evitar la oxidación lumínica del lúpulo, por lo que envasar una cerveza con botellas de vidrio transparente, azul o verde significa que tienes que bebértela al momento porque almacenarlas es una sentencia de que tu cerveza rápidamente sufrirá oxidación lumínica. Lamento acotar este detalle pero como biólogo que soy no puedo evitar estos detalles y más cuando se trata de mi bebida alcohólica favorita.

Y bien amigos ahora si puedo decir que si he degustado a plenitud esta maravillosa cerveza tipo pilsen, con un grado alcohólico de 4,5 y bien fría he decidido aumentar la nota de esta marca de cerveza, pues le había colocado 8/10 a su presentación en lata y a esta versión le doy un 8.5/10 es refrescante, muy suave, un grado de alcohol moderado y notablemente espumosa. Mi conclusión es simple si vas a probar esta marca has el esfuerzo de conseguirla en botella, prepararla con el "vestido de novia" para que disfrutes de una verdadera experiencia gustativa.
