I hear people speak of it: The 'power of the mind' and so forth and I guess in many respects I have experienced this in my own life. Now as I face the challenge of reaching a fitness goal I am experiencing these very small moments where I almost disappear in thought.
When I do, I lose all connection with the difficulty of the task and I drift into a thought almost separating myself completely from the pain and discomfort of my body. It doesn't last long, maybe a couple seconds but I am intrigued by the potential of this experience.
If this is something which could be 'switched' on at will then it has the potential to propel a person through a point where without a disconnect, would otherwise quit. I will explore further but I can tell you, at this stage, the pain is quite real.
here are my stats for the week:
Running
5.5KM @ 38m01s
5.04KM @ 35m39s
Swimming
500M @ 100 Intervals ( freestyle & breastroke )
In conclusion
Swimming is challenging in the respect that access to a pool is not available but I will definitely need to get more swims in per week if I want to progress past this point.
till next week...
