Is a suburban house, in the 2000s an asset? Well, if you intended to rent it out, yes.

If you were going to live in it, it was a liability, but it would offset that expense with providing housing near shopping and work.

What about in a decade when only people who couldn't leave lived in cities?

If you were going to live in it, it would be something you would have to defend from the roaming gangs, and all it would offer was shelter. No resale value.

In such ways, things will change. Things that are considered assets today, will become things that you CAN'T sell.

Rental Properties

Every piece of the structure that supports rental properties, collapses. All of it.

You have heard of large commercial buildings being sold for 10¢ on the dollar? Because no one needs the office space. Imho they were lucky to get 10¢.

Rent controls are coming. Soon you won't be able to kick people out for not paying rent. At this point, the house will not be able to be sold. An investor won't touch it till the tenants are removed. Some sucker might buy it, and we will hear how this evil person (who just wanted a house to live in) is trying to remove the poor renters.

And then, it becomes obvious that there are more empty houses than buyers.

Insurance will go through the roof. Mortgages will be almost impossible to get. It will be too costly to own a house. But, if you want to squat in an empty house, there will be nothing to stop you.

And the real nail in rental real estate? Bitcoin outperforms, and has no downsides.

At some point you won't even be able to give away suburban houses.

Cars

An easier example of something turning from "an asset" into a lovely flower pot is cars.

So, you got that shiny new Lambo… but where can you drive it? How do you get gasoline?

"And what is wrong with you bruh? Why are you buying a car with wheels in the first place? Ain't no one got time for that shit!"

People will move to be with their "family". And then we will make automated delivery systems (probably a computer controlled train cars, that run on a monorail way off the ground.) And those people will rarely go anywhere. They are with their closest friends. And everyone else they can just video call. So, most people wouldn't drive anywhere, even if there was repaired roads and gasoline available.

And worse, for tire based automobiles, we start building flying cars.

The roads are a mess from frequent disasters. Needing people with REAL off road vehicles to traverse.

Basically, the need for cars dries up, the want for cars disappears, and the problem that cars solved, is no longer there.

There may be recycling that will take the steel, if you can get it there.
But few, very few, will actually pay for a car.

Financial Instruments

Everything connected to wall street will be worthless, or worse.

People will come to hate BlackStoneRock. Having investments there may cause you to get hate. Now you need to get rid of that politically hot potato.

Basically, imagine that CBDCs are implemented. And they start locking/closing people's accounts for "wrong think". Causing many people to look for alternatives, like bitcoin or Monero. And then, a lot of people get banned, for something everyone disagrees with. Now, everyone hates the banksters, and everyone is moving away from the CBDCs. AND! on top of that, the govern-cements are no longer able to pay UBI/welfare. So, much hate, and no one wants to be in that system anyway.

Stocks are scams. Bonds are frauds. Banks are thieves. And banksters are hated and evil.

On the other side, cryptos become easy to use. Everything that is important is tokenized. You don't need a bank, or the banksters.

So, wall street collapses, falls over and turns to dust, while the people cheer.

Everything your "financial planner" convinces you is a good investment, will soon (relatively) disappear.

The old world is coming to a close. This includes all of the things that were called "assets". All the things that only had utility because people with guns said that they were valuable.

Things in the new world will be obviously valuable. There will be an easily identifiable chain from the maker to the person who utilizes it.

Bitcoin is a great improvement on fiat currency. But, it will not stop there. Bitcoin will be improved. It will be even better.

The world of derivatives, that banksters make with spaghetti logic written in legalese will fall apart. No one wants that shit. And, we will have AI that reads the contract and explains it simply. So, if we have anything like that, it will be written into a smart contract, which will automatically settle when the triggers happen.

The stuff the banksters try to hide, will become exposed and obvious. On the other side, much cleaner, extremely transparent, not tied to the banksters, financial instruments will be on offer.

All the assets change.
