This is a trick question! right?
Gold and bitcoin can exists side by side. right?
They do not have to be at war with each other. right?
There won't be a clear winner. Gold has been money for thousands of years. It can't just become worthless, if bitcoin wins?
Or, maybe there is a clear winner?
And we should sell one and buy the other?
Well, lets pull out the old crystal ball, and scry the future
The future of gold
This is really a pain, because i am unsure about prices and when, but i can tell about order of things that are pretty much guaranteed to happen.
As the fiat world dies, the WW III that was supposed to happen so that T.H.E.Y., those elite banksters, could force through new currencies. And people would be forced to take them, and most people wouldn't have the strength to resist, because, you know, war. Since WW III is NOT going to happen. those central banksters are going to have to offer something people will actually trust.
So, out comes gold-backed currencies. You probably won't be able to trade the notes for gold directly, but its value will be tied to gold.
When the countries issue these, it will SORTA be based on how much gold they CLAIM they have, and how much currency they are going to issue. And then, they will exchange the old notes for new notes.
So, gold's value will probably shoot way up. Like, $10,000 per ounce.
Wow, look at gold's price surge! Own some gold.
However, two things will happen alongside this. Central banksters will be found to be up to their old money printing ways, and bitcoin will have really taken off. Like a million in the rear view mirror.
The future of bitcoin
People are discovering bitcoin. That bitcoin has outperformed all other asset classes. And even large corporations now want it.
Bitcoin will either go to $250,000 or $1,000,000 by the end of the year. It really depends on how many people will sell at $100k. The bigs are buying bitcoin over the counter, buying from people who have lots of bitcoin and believe that $100k per is a lot of money. If you have 100 bitcoin sitting around, you can get that mansion, that car, pay for retirement, and still have bitcoin left over.
But, at some point, that source of bitcoin dries up. Maybe soonish, maybe in four years. And, at that point, bitcoin goes no ask. You won't be able to get it on exchanges. But it will probably be the thing all other crypto is tied to for value. (or maybe USDC, or the new gold USD) Bitcoin becomes priceless, as it is traded directly for things. Big things. And people can only speculate about its value.
Bitcoin becomes the coin of the realm. It is what big corporations transact in. It is what countries settle debts in.
I strongly suggest to own some bitcoin!
The rest of the future
Bitcoin and gold do not stay. They both will go away, and here is how.
Electricity will be created wherever it is needed with continuous, non-polluting energy. There will be no power failure that drives us back to the stone age. There will also be an internet that you can access everywhere on the planet.
So, that is not what kills bitcoin. What kills it is a better bitcoin. With attributes that future thinkers of money have only no started discussing. Think about those people who like to talk about money-less societies and the attributes thereof, and then try to codify that into money.
In this, it won't matter if you sell or hoard bitcoin. The new stuff is THAT much better, to make hoarding money unnecessary.
Gold becomes a pretty yellow metal, and its value is just that.
- There is shown to be a LOT more gold than previous even speculated upon. So, its value as a money drops.
- Those Rots-childs will try to use the stuff to buy mercenaries and take over the world by force. Many farmers will see this and stop accepting gold as payment for food.
- Vibrational mining comes about, and you can just go out with your boombox and get as much gold as you need. Gold hits the value of a pretty yellow metal.
There will be a sweet spot to trade gold for other things that you want to have. Keep an eye on what you really want, and trade at the right time.
The future belongs to digital currencies. Especially after bitcoin crosses the physical/digital barrier.
However, between now and then is a lot of little wars and many unCivil wars. A lot of countries break apart. Barriers to trading cryptos just disappears.
The giant corporations try to take on countries, because, in their mind, they are bigger. This really doesn't end well, because corporations are dependant on people buying their products. And if they start going all Cyberpunk, these people are already working on alternative manufacturing solutions.
The future is really chaotic, and so, stay loose.
Have some cash (not in the bank), have some silver, and have some bitcoin.
There will be a time for each.
