It’s been a while since I played a full season of Splinterlands but every now and then I like to get a feel for where the game is at because there is always some new cards and an evolving meta-game to adapt to. I find it helps to understand which NFTs (cards) are valuable and why. Maybe even get an idea of where the game might be heading. So today I ran my report card for Ranked Rewards Season 26 with the handy tool developed by kiokizz@kiokizz – check it out HERE

I decided to spend my energy this season playing Wild Ranked and after pushing into Silver League I was a bit undecided about whether to go for Gold and Diamond like I had in the past or whether to try and stay in Silver and push up the Leaderboard. That decision was kind of made for me as I was floundering a bit mid-season and I spent most of the back end of the season around the 2000-2100 rating. In the end I finished with a Rating High of 2179 with 266 Ranked Play wins which was enough to put me into 45th but still a decent way off any kind of Leaderboard Reward.

I did end up with rewards including 143 Standard Cards and 2 Gold Foils, but no Legendary cards in either. Potions I don’t really rate much and SPS / Merits were there but probably not worth much either. I did get 4 Chaos Packs, which I had been stockpiling anyway so they were a handy rewards. Overall I probably earned a bit more than I would have by leasing my cards and I did have some fun (amongst the frustration) so no regrets at all.

The game has changed a bit. The Martyr cards are clearly becoming really important and I haven’t yet got a good handle on how to play with this ability yet. There are also some Big Mana Legendary Riftwatchers cards that I found pretty hard to beat. I consistently struggled against cards like Agor Longtail and Coeurl Lurker which in my opinion have become real match winners. I am in the process of deciding whether I want to buy them.

As I mentioned in a previous post I think that Brawls are where it’s AT and I did well in the Brawls personally, plus our guild the Drop Bears won it’s last couple of Brawls. So I picked up a few extra Gladius Packs there which was a nice little sweetener on the season. I’m going to give the game another full season before I decide what to do next. It’s been good to freshen up and get confirmation that the game is still in reasonable shape. It does get frustrating having to fork out for new cards every time I play, but that’s how the CCG space has been since forever so no point complaining about that.

See you on the battlefield!
