Lets get out this bubble!
After a brilliant chat the other day with @penderis and
@poetrybyjeremy, there has been a lot of different ideas floating around my head, about the progression of BuddyUP. We are going to be knocking up a roadmap for the community so that we can see where we want to be, by that time.
There are a few essential things that we need to add to the community such as; artwork (logos, headers etc), 1UP integration and voice/feedback channels. As well as these, we also need to brief and train two members of the community so they can write a post on this account about the top BuddyUP posts of the week. There is already a couple of people who have shown interest and I somewhat trust.
Branding is our number one concern right now. I believe that BuddyUP has got something different, in the way that it is set up, for the improvement of the user. Being able to create the right image for BuddyUP matters massively.
After various chats with mentors and members of the community, I've decided that we are going to host a contest for our BuddyUP logo. This will hopefully get BuddyUP in the eyesight of more users and it'll also give some of you the chance to win some SBD for your entries. Not to mention, you could find yourself as the head judge for our next contests...
Not everybody loves to write. Everyone has different hobbies. There are some amazingly talented people here on Steemit in a wide range of talents and we want to show off what you guys are all about. Our goal is to get a mixture of contests set up in the future, on a weekly basis.
At this moment in time, it is going to be difficult to set up a wide variety of different events. This is because of my limited knowledge in certain subjects. This opens the floor for others to get involved and put their ideas on the table. I hope that together, we will be able to create a wide range of events to cater to all hobbies and interests.
To start with, we will be having contests for our logo, headers and other artwork for the community. We came up with an idea the other day to have a weekly art contest that will be based on the various fish roles in our community. This will let the artists, inside and out of the community, show off their skills by giving them the chance to create a piece of art each week based on the fish (or frog!) of choice. Here is a list of the fish roles so you can get an idea of what I mean:
Shrimp, Tetra, Guppy, Gourami, Tadpole, Finder Frog, Swordfish, Mormyrid, and Catfish.
There will be prizes for the best designs and we will be using and crediting the artists work in our community posts. Hopefully, this will help the designers get more exposure within the community.
We have been running our post-drop channel for a few weeks now and the responses and advice given by certain members are outstanding. Although the text feedback is great, there is a definite lack of real-time communication which would help members improve even further. This point was brought across by @penderis and he is absolutely right.
We are going to be setting up a voice channel specifically for our post-drop channel. This will help with explaining certain elements of feedback that are difficult to grasp via text and it will hopefully give people the opportunity to edit their posts in real-time, while someone is there to guide them. My opinion is that we all have different skill levels when it comes to reading and writing and there is always something that one of us can teach another.
I will highlight certain goals below in the form of a roadmap. These will be tasks and events that we are going to achieve by certain dates. This is to try and keep you all aware and on track with where we are at within the community. Back to a principle that I try to highlight when possible; we aim to always be truthful and transparent with our members.

| Post-drop voice channel | 25/03/18 |

If you support the community and you want to help out more with the server; I will be present in the Hello-BuddyUP voice channel, inside the discord server, so drop in and let me know what you think. I have a few people in my crosshairs to snap up into our team, but it doesn't mean there isn't room for more.
Let us know what you think about the future of BuddyUP. Do you think we are on the right track? What do we need to consider? Do you enjoy your time on the server?
Looking forward to seeing more of you in the community and I hope you are all having a great day. Take it easy and remember...
We all grow together
