If you want to eat in a traditional Hungarian restaurant with giant portions and in peaceful surroudings in a small village, an interesting place to visit might be Kemences Fogado in Tardos.
Tardos is located in a nice area of Hungary, not far from the fantastic city of Tata, a place ideal for walking around one of the two awesome lakes on a sunny day. And after you have walked around the lakes on a romantic trip, go to Tardos to eat in Kemences Fogado.
I visited the plce recently, and you should be warned - the portions are very big. They are especially known for the Kemences Langos, which is traditional Hungarian courses served on a peace of bread made in the oven. I had great expecatations to this, but unfortunately, I wasn't really satisfied. I ate a chicken salad on the Langos (bread), and to be honest, the bread was just a tasteless way to get extra calories. It would have been much better to just eat the chicken salad.
The atmosphere of the place is great, they also have an outdoor area where kids can play. But, be warned - it is packed during the weekends on sunny days, and unfortunately, we had to wait for more than 45 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food. It means that you will get a lot of quality time if you bring your loved one here on a busy day, but it can also we awkward if you wait for such a long time if you have a hard time getting a conversation started with your blind-date.
In other words, a nice place to visit, but there are quite some minuses and things worth keeping in your mind as well.
