Today I woke up, looking back, remembering so many things and at the same time grateful to God for allowing me one more day of life. These dates for me are the reminder, apart from the family, our Christmas customs, the food and the hustle and bustle also reminds me of the rebirth in my life and all that I have overcome, as I always say by the hand of God and my family.
These days seeing the situation of my dear friend @annafenix with her mother, who is sick and also after the death yesterday 25th of a cousin-sister in my beloved Maracaibo by Covid, I began to reflect on how uncertain life is, that everything changes in the blink of an eye, without realizing it, our world is turned upside down.
Exactly 6 years ago on December 22nd, I suffered an ischemic event as doctors say, popularly spoken or as my father would say in Christian, a stroke. Everything happened very fast, I remember I was cooking lunch and suddenly I just fell down, I tried to get up and I could not, I stayed on the floor for a while trying to analyze what was happening to me and fortunately I had my cell phone nearby and I tried to take it, it took me a world of time.
I remember that in those moments the fear was very latent because I knew that all that was not good. I felt that my mind was thinking and coordinating everything but my body did not respond, it did the opposite..., as I could call my husband, because I was alone with my children, he was on duty as a firefighter and from then on it was a whirlwind of tests, consultations and medications.
Fortunately, God is great and after all that, therapies, treatments, care of my family and my own efforts to return to do my things normally, I was reborn again and as I tell my friends and whoever wants to hear me, first God is great and yes you can. Today my friend @annafenix I am with you in mind and spirit, I sent you a lot of strength and that is why I decided to share this experience so that everyone who is going through the same or similar.
For me, my faith is what has pulled me through many situations and this was one of them, it is exhausting, frustrating and even sad, because you can not believe what is happening, yes it is and quite a lot, but everything passes, fortunately and after the difficult, gray days, comes the light, have no doubt about that. Everything happens for a reason, everything has a reason, even if at the moment we do not understand it.
Keep in mind that life is a blessing regardless of what we are going through, that we must enjoy the simplest things, a good cup of coffee, a delicious meal, smiles, moments..., we must not denigrate any of them, not even the bad moments because everything is part of this life, this is living and life is beautiful, although sometimes it has moments of vinegar as a dear cousin says.
These have been part of the teachings that I had as a result of all these experiences and others more, that we must move forward and as I say taking One Day at a Time, that if, that what is in our hands we do it and what we do not put it in the hands of God (in my case) or in that supreme being in which each one believes, it is the decision of each one, but believe in what is possible, of what we see impossible. Greetings my beautiful friends!
