This is the Third challenge I have taken part in where I did not have the actual card for the challenge as this week it is the Feral Spirit.
In order to decide what challenge I would make for myself I looked at the Feral Spirit and what makes it unique.
The Feral Spirit has a unique ability of Sneak. I decided the next time I had the ruleset of Super Sneak that I found on a Splinterlands Wiki
I get one attempt win or loss. My record before this is 3-1 in these battle challenges, read on to see what happens this time...
Two key things to note
This means that the most likely opposition I will face is either a melee heavy team relying on the sneak ruleset or a range heavy life splinter team with General Sloan's +1 Ranged.
People in lower leagues are heavily influenced by rulesets, this is a chance for them to use melee cards in new positions especially when the Earth splinter is unavailable.
Now that I have made my assumptions for my opponents team I need a strong team that can counter it but also withstand if they do something different.
Noticing that the dragon splinter was available is key as the Summoner Drake of Arnak provides armor in a battle that is likely to have minimal magic.
Now that I had my summoner I wanted to decide what splinter I could work best into a dragon team. The reason besides the summoner that I had chosen Dragon as my splinter was because of Djinn Chwala
Often used as a tank due to high armor and health
In this case he is perfect for the last position on my team as every melee monster with sneak will deal damage to themselves because of his thorns ability.
It was at this point a smile came over my face and said why use one monster with thorns when you can have two, Cursed Windeku
🌖Life Leechers! 🌘
Having used up 18 of my 29 mana already I now had 11 left to work with. There was a simple yet effective ability that caught my eye.
There are two cards with Life Leech on the death splinter that I have, Life Sapper and Venari Bonesmith
While magic does not deal heavy hits like some melee cards, the ability life leech will increase the health of characters massively while monsters are forced to hit my back row Djinn Chwala.
I am counting on him to survive long enough for life leech to really put in the work!
My remaining 4 mana
At this point with just 4 mana left and 2 spots open on my team I had a decision, I could put use one stronger card in or two weaker ones.
Due to my summoner providing armor it made sense to use 2 weaker cards since they would both get 1 armor each.
My choice was to go with Undead Badger and Battering Ram
Watch the Battle Here
My opponent went with a hard hitting and demoralizing melee fire team.
After all the buffs this is the outlook before the battle begins
Early on things were going back and forth, this battle was intense and not for the faint of heart. After Round 1 my Djinn Chwala was already taken out and I was getting nervous.
At the start of Round 4 I found myself getting prepared to lose as they were likely to take out my Venari Bonesmith and I wouldn't have enough damage to get past the Living Lava.
My Record is now 4 wins and 1 loss in these challenges.
