Hi friends,
I use the Under Armour running app and have my running shoes connected to the app via Bluetooth. Kinda strange, I know, but it is cool to see different running stats.
Once such stat is cadence, which says how many steps I am taking per minutes of running. Here are some stats from my last run:
The average cadence for a runner is 170 - 180, and I am closer to the mid 180s usually. This means my running stride is not too efficient for how fast I am going.
That makes sense to me, as I am not very flexible and have a short stride. The app tells me in real time that my cadence is too high, and gives me tips, such as focus on pushing off the ground with back foot, swing your arms in a bigger and more powerful motion, and keep your body upright and take longer strides.
Something I didn’t think I would say when working out… too many steps.
Thanks for coming by,
Brian
