Rad Rodgers is a platformer who has something like different games from the 90s like Conker and Commander Keen. This mishmash of older games has stepped into the time machine and has come out with a brand new skin. In this Rad Rodgers review you can read how that has been extracted.
Rad Rodgers is a game that is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. In total you lost about three to four hours to the eight worlds in Rad Rodgers .
Rad is a boy who plays too many video games. When he falls asleep after a long night of gaming he wakes up in his own game with his console: Dusty. The two forms and nice duo and have to work together for, yes what actually? That is not clear so quickly.
But that there is no deep philosophical layer in it does not matter, Rad Rodgers is a game where the fun is paramount. That is what the game exudes. The different worlds are colorful, beautifully designed and are full of crazy animals that you have to beat with an arsenal of weapons.
The worlds may be colorful, beautifully designed and full of crazy animals, climbing, clambering and shooting in the 2D world often feels repetitive. There are few enemies and the enemies that are there will not deter you so quickly with their attack. You will find that you die more often because of a failing eye-hand coordination than the opponent who gets in your way.
You can kill these opponents with your weapon. This will initially be an automatic pistol, but on the way to the finish line in each level you will encounter a number of other fiery means to join the battle. These are not very many, but these weapons are fun. For example, you have a gun that shoots firebirds.
This only makes the defeat of the enemies more fun and gives you a lot of fun despite the repetitive gameplay. As an adult gamer you bring the inner child back up in you.
This inner child will be able to indulge in the game, because there is enough shit and pee humor in Rad Rodgers where you used to be able to laugh like little fellow. From masturbating to butt plugs, welcome to the crazy adventures of Rad that will undoubtedly bring a smile to your face.
These jokes are made by, among other things, the console with long robot arms that we mentioned earlier: Dusty. Dusty has a function besides his jokes and grolls and sometimes somewhat annoying and repetitive remarks.
In each level, the passage is blocked by an obstructed object or missing element. Think of a wooden plank that is missing to jump on, or a boulder blocking the road. Fortunately, Dusty can help you in this case.
The console does this by switching to the Pixel universe. In this pixelated world, Dusty has to make his way and search for the missing object or object to be destroyed. This can sometimes also happen by solving a puzzle in the Pixel universe. These assignments are quite easy one time and sometimes quite difficult.
Although the aforementioned enemies are not a big danger, you will notice that the game can sometimes be very difficult. Especially when you play at a more difficult level you will soon notice that it is more difficult than at first glance. A real challenge.
This is partly due to the fact that you have fewer lives with a higher level of difficulty. But also on the lowest level you will find that the fun of Rad's life will not be too long if you drop into the water a few times.
You can make it even more difficult for yourself by picking up different hidden collectibles. You sometimes have them in sight, but how do you get there? No idea. It makes it even more challenging for the hard gamer.
With a playing time of about three to four you can see Rad Rodgers as a snack that has to fill the stomach for the heavier work. The gameplay is repetitive and the enemies contain few spectacular elements, but that is dominated by the beautiful worlds, the challenge and the dark, slightly sexual humor. All in all it is more than worth taking Rad Rodgers out of his packaging and starting with the few hours of adventure.
