Conflict is a disagreement between two opposing group or individuals or an incompatibility of two things that cannot be simultaneously fulfilled.
There goes a saying that 'to err is human but to forgive is divine'' . It is in the nature of man to make mistakes, but truth is for every mistake there is always a negative impact. Conflict is inevitable in this world but can be managed to a minimal level.
I will share few practical steps in managing conflict.
°Know that the real enemy is within: Ephesians:6.12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. When someone offends us, it is easy to say that the act was done 'intentionally', so that alone makes it hard to resolve, but the truth is the real enemy is not the one that offended you , but the act was prompted by an internal motivation.
°Avoid discussing the issue with a third-party: It is really tempting to discuss the issue with a third-party before telling the one that offended you. It is wisdom to discuss it over with the one that offended you FIRST. If someone offends you try to create a channel whereby you can talk to the person about the offense. Most times people hurt us without knowing. In telling the person that offended you his or her offense you are winning over a brother.
°Keep your cool: It is natural for people to act defensive when you are telling them the issue, but the truth is you have passed your message across in love and sincerity.
°Go and Rest: This looks very hard to do. Love covereth all, any message passed across in love will always be heard even though not immediately but eventually will. Dialogue is greater than Warfare in conflict resolution. I try as much as possible to rest and allow love work when I've discuss the issue over. Remember God is love . So allowing love work is allowing God work.
I went for a conference last year November 'NEW MOMENTUM' Conference, during one the segment Pastor Liliana Wealth said something 'make excuses for people's failures' . God makes excuses for our short coming everytime we fail, giving room for GROWTH and MATURITY, we should also try to apply this too in our life's and how we relate to people.
