It's hard to believe it was less than a week ago that I was up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan enjoying the sights and sounds. In this post on Friday, I talked about the music store that 
I mentioned that I bought some records there, but I decided to make you wait to find out what they were. Well, today the waiting is over for your. I am going to share some of the records I picked up in this #threetunetuesday post sponsored by 
I've always been a bit of a Linda Ronstadt fan. She has a really unique voice that can rock out or be soft and tender. There was a time back in the 70's that lines between country music and pop music were very blurred. That still exists today, but not to the extent that it did back during that time period. Artists like Ronstadt, Eddie Rabbit, and Kenny Rogers had hits that were bending genres.
I picked up this copy of "Simple Dreams" for $6 and while I could have shared the song "It's So Easy", which was one of Linda's biggest hits, I instead chose to share with you her cover of The Rolling Stones "Tumbling Dice". It's a great tune and I think this live version was done really well by her.
The fact that this album also has the song "Blue Bayou" on it was a winner for me. The only thing that could have made it better is if it had the song "Willin" on it.

I remember the first time I heard the Scorpions. Okay, probably not the first time I heard them, but it was definitely the first time I took notice of them. The song "Wind of Change" had just come out and there was a kid at my church that had the cassette. I borrowed it and made a copy (as people did back in the day), and listened to it over and over.
It was such a moving song. I can't really say why, but it touched me quite deeply. Fast forward to today and The Scorpions are one of those bands that I often forget about, then I hear them somewhere, and I remember just how awesome they are.
Kind of like The Killers.
I had a Pat Benatar album in my hand and I was fully ready to buy it. Then I happened upon this copy of Scorpions "Love At First Sting" for $16 and I knew I had to pick it up. I was already at the spending limit I set for myself, so I put the Benatar album back and I am now the proud owner of this gem.
I've gotta be honest, besides "Rock you Like a Hurricane", I don't know as though I have ever heard any of the other songs on this album, but I'm Leaving You stood out to me enough that I decided to share it with you today.
There is a really good chance I am going to be spinning the entire Scorpions catalog in my office via Spotify today.
Bet.
A couple of months ago I was down at my sister in laws house and she mentioned that Ann Wilson from Heart was going to be playing at a Fourth of July festival near where they live. She was trying to figure out if she knew any of their songs. I said "I guarantee you know a lot of their stuff", and after a quick Google search, I was proven right.
I think that conversation actually tipped the scales towards her buying tickets and
passing. In that conversation, it came up that my favorite Heart song is actually one of their first.
For me, "Dreamboat Annie" is a really magical tune. It just hits in all the right spots for me. The only thing I wish I could change about the song is that I would make it longer. It's far too short. It's over much too soon and it always leaves me wanting more.
Heart is pretty interesting. I took a deep dive into their catalog a couple of weeks ago and it is interesting to see the metamorphosis from how they started to what they became. The gap between songs like "Dreamboat Annie" and "Crazy on You" seems like it would be impossible to bridge. Yet they did it, and they did it well! Plus, how about that guitar work by Nancy Wilson. Talk about crazy!
There is a really good chance this won't be the last Heart album I buy and even though this one was $17, I had to pick it up when I saw it.
Finally, I am going to leave you with the leftovers...
You can thank me later that I didn't share any Anne Murray songs with you. At $5 this was a steal for me. I really dig the tone this Canadian songstress has. Sure, it's the kind of music your mom and dad probably listen to, but there is something about Murray that I have always enjoyed. I was happy to add this one to my collection.
I really like coming across albums like this. For $6 this compilation album has some really good stuff on it. Hits from Willie Nelson, Lefty Frizzel, and many others are included on this album. I can't wait to spin this one!
This is another one of those compilation albums that I had to pick up. For $7 it gives you two full albums of classic hits. Songs from The Byrds, The Zombies, and many more from the 60's and 70's. It doesn't have a track listing on the back, so I had to pull it out of the sleeve to check it out while I was at the store.
I was only able to get a quick glimpse at some of the songs, so I can't wait to find out what other hidden gems are on this one.
