This past weekend I went down to the Columbus, OH area to visit with my inlaws. It is always a good time when we go down there and there is usually a lot going on with both of my nieces playing basketball and softball.
This weekend was one of the rare instances that neither of them had a game or practice that they had to go to while we were down there. Not being ones to sit on their hands, my oldest niece jumped at the opportunity to play with some of her friends on a hitting league.
Basically they just pitch and hit, there is no base running or fielding of any sort. The whole thing consists of a batter, pitcher, and catcher in a batting cage.
We happened to get to the facility a little earlier than we needed to, so we basically just had to stand around and wait for the match to start. I was looking around an noticed on the far end of the cages that there was a group of people practicing their cricket hitting.
I tried to take some pictures as discretely as possible. I have been learning more about cricket thanks to some information from 
Columbus is a very culturally diverse place and though we recently started having a recreation league rugby team near where I live I have a feeling cricket is still a long way off.
Not so in Columbus!
I choose not to take a picture, but I was even surprised to see a young lady show up with her mom and start practicing her batting with what I can only assume was her father or a hitting coach.
I apologize for the quality of the photos. I didn't want to get too close, though I was more than willing to explain to them why I was taking pictures had they approached me. I think it is pretty cool that even though it is just small section this facility has take the time to setup an area for cricket players to practice. Complete with wickets and everything!
