There you go again running off, over and over I've been told, taught, scolded, beaten but never spat upon, we are who we are.
Just know that and certainly know who you are, that alone brings us to the point of who we are.
At a point in my life, I always wanted to be a priest, what do you expect growing up in a Catholic family, with all orthodox worship.
I t was fun all the way, yeah absolutely fun.
You I was an altar boy, yeah one of those boys that are with the priest on the alter but it didn't all begin like that.
As I vividly recall, we were many Catholics living on the same street, attending the same parish. The big boys then we're the actual big boys in there altar boys association.
Wait, my elder brother and I with four other friends still living in the same street and the four friends all living four houses after mine, decided joining the altar boys association. Although, I was excited but was greatly disturbed, why?
I wasn't a communicant, hence can't join until the sacrament of the first holy Communion.
Alright, it was a Saturday morning, my house closer to the entrance of the street, so all four boys came around and left with my brother, leaving just only me at home. I was all alone from 7am to 11am, can't really recall though, but they all came back quite early.
I was excited to see them but they were all unhappy to return home.
So, guys what's up? Why are all of you angry?
I could tell they were really upset, I called my brother. He responded, they were sent away because they failed the test.
Wait a minute, a test?
Yeah, you got that a test, damn, no one ever mentioned that.
Yes, I was happy they weren't accepted but never said it out loud, finally we are all going to be home now. Sadly, in the evening news came that they were called by the co-ordinator.
They all left in the evening and were put on a 6 months probation, damn I was all alone again but certainly happier for them.
Later in the year after receiving the sacrament of first holy Communion, I joined the altar boys association, no probation thanks to them though.
So back to being a priest, wanted to clarify how close I was to being a priest, right?
Young mind believing it, until all started becoming glaring and not so rosy.
Maybe I took priest the best role models until I learnt that we are who we are regardless of what we are.
I never did become a priest or even wanted to become a priest after joining the association, why? I didn't join because that's actually what my head wanted not I.
Although, today one of the six of us is on his way of becoming a priest, who would have thought that would be possible.
