The new season started pretty cold and frosty ...
... we had plenty of much warmer springtime days during the winter :D ...
...but this is not unusual here, this combination happens from time to time, every few years or so ...
... I drove to the city very early, leaving the house at 15 minutes to 6, had to take a friend who still has troubles with his car, to work in the supermarket at the edge of Pula, the nearest city to my small seaside town ...
... so I could enjoy this last short breath of winter.
The day continued in a considerably warmer tone ...
... but I have more early morning shots to show, so let's go back in time ... not much, just a few hours ...
... on the way back, I stopped on some anonymous ordinary meadow in between the city and my hometown ... to put on the photograph the tiny crystals ...
... and the beauty of ordinary plants decorated with frost. These are the folded leaves of the Verbascum sinuatum plant.
This cluster of small blue flowers ...
... belong to the Muscari neglectum plant ...
... that I never noticed before in this frosty version.
It was a nice little walk not far from the car, I took this series of shots, and when I had enough because I felt the pain in my poor cold fingers ... I continued toward Medulin, my hometown, pretty sure that I will go back in bed and continue the interrupted sleep ... but ...
... as the sun was rapidly climbing, the light and the colors were so inviting and beautiful ...
... that I just passed through my hometown and continued to Liznjan, the next village ...
... I shot some horses there, and then returned home ...
... but didn't go to sleep ... I sat in front of the PC and started working on these shots, and then on various old photographs for some future posts
Around noon, I drove back towards the city, planning to make a stop somewhere halfway, take some photographs and then pick up my friend at 2 o clock when his shift is over ...
... so I photographed this interesting plant near the village called Premantura, on the steep stony terrain near the sea.
This is the Sedum rubens succulent plant that likes these dry, windy areas.
A grasshopper was resting nearby ...
... which was pretty unexpected ... because the day, although completely sunny, was actually pretty cold.
A bit further I found some Sage plants ... I took a few leaves to chew along the way ...
... and found a lady beetle ...
... and that's all I had to tell you about my first day of spring 2021 ...
... as always in these posts on HIVE, the photographs are my work.
