Today, in this post, I wanna show you twenty screenshots from a small seaside village in the region called The Emerald Stairs. You'll see rural houses, docks, boats, and agricultural fields, but none of that stuff is real becouse it all takes place in an imaginary island called The Living Lands, which exists only inside the video game. The video game in question is Avowed, a colorful, underrated action RPG often labeled "too woke to be good" by the general gaming audience on YouTube. That's all superficial bullshit, in my opinion, becouse yes, there is a bit of emotional contemporary cringe in some dialogues, but that's not enough to dismiss the great combat, beautiful world-building, and some well-written philosophical conversations and dilemmas sprinkled throughout the pretty interesting story. The graphics are also very good, at times quite spectacular, for a relatively low or medium-budget game that Avowed is.
This first screenshot shows the village and the surrounding fields from the rooftop of one of the houses in that same seaside village. On the distant cliff in the background of the picture, you can see some picturesque ancient ruins.
Here you can see a strange giant root in the midlle of a cultivated area. The purple lamp-like things are containers filled with the soul-essence of living things, including people, that somehow work like some sort of ethereal fertilizer that makes the crops grow fast and healthy.

... shows the wooden piers, the boats, and the sea.
Here, you can see the wild mushrooms that sometimes grow around the mysterious giant roots that only recently started sprouting all around The Living Lands. Some of those mushrooms ...
... are probably well-camouflaged sporelings. Sporelings, in this game, are the mushroom-like creatures that look cute but don't behave that way. Sporelings are aggressive, venomous, and therefore quite dangerous.
This screenshot shows one of the rural houses on the outskirts of the village.
The houses are built in the same Vailian style, but each one is slightly different. Vailian culture is the prevalent one in this region.

This is the nearby fortified town of Fior mes Ivèrno. I like this strange name. It's a lovely town too, but I won't show it today.
