The weather is sunny, pretty cold but nice and sunny, so I drove about 40 kilometers earlier today to take a walk around some quiet rural place.
A bunch of friends was there with me. This little excursion was more about talking, joking, and having the general, weekend fun, not so much about taking photographs ...
... so I took only a handful of shots while walking the narrow, unpaved roads bordered with shrubs, trees, and dry stone walls.
In many shady places along the stretches of very old walls ...
... the fern has grown in the space between the stones.
This is the Asplenium trichomanes, a very common species that occurs in many places, all around the world, always in stony habitats, man-made or natural.
The combination of green fern and brown leaves fallen from the oak trees looked pretty cool.
This fern is a beautiful, highly decorative plant, actually.
The moss also looks pretty good.
Here we were standing near the small vineyard.
In this photograph, you can take a better look at the oak on the other side of the vineyard.
A bit further, I saw a barren tree.
This newer wall made with old stones was different. Didn't look bad, though.
This is the last photograph I took on that sunny walk. The rose hips of the wild rose.
