The beginnings of our journey led us onto a trail, for we had an idea in mind for where we wanted to take them. On a community golf course happens to be a well-known attraction. Granted, it is now an ABANDONED attraction, but nonetheless! 😄
Along the way, we happened to spot a teepee that someone had built. It is quite common to stumble upon teepees in our forests; many people set them up to hang out for a few days, then leave them 😅 Naturally, our girls wanted to go take a look...
And so they did! It was their first time being inside of a teepee, and our oldest daughter was sure to let us know that it would become our "Peppa house" 😂 If you are unfamiliar, she is referencing a children's show about a family of pigs 🐖
As we walked further along, we came across ANOTHER teepee! 😄 Of course, the girls went to check out this one as well. They had a great time!
I saw some moss-covered rocks. I friggin' love moss, man -- the texture is sublime 🤤 I once saw a tutorial for a moss bathroom rug, and I thought that was AMAZING...
I took a quick photo of the waterfall at the bottom of the trail. We have come to this location so many times that I have too many photos to count! 😩 But this waterfall is just the first of two that are on the trail. We are very fortunate to live in the most densely waterfall inhabited region of the world! 🌊
We finally made it to the 😱 SCARY PLACE 😱 In all honesty, it is just an abandoned ski lift! Yes, before the area turned into a golf course, it used to be a ski resort, so people would ride the ski lifts to get to the top of the hill. Technically our hill is a mountain -- an escarpment, if you will -- so you can imagine how high the climb was! 😨
Time for the walk back. We took a few more photos along the way; I think they both look great here 😁
There was a train yard nearby and I happened to spot some cool graffiti that I liked. I tried getting a decent shot through the trees...
The girls had so much fun running down the hills as well 😂 They spent most of their time falling down, but my husband was able to take this great picture of them!
As we began to make our way back home, we saw this billboard along the way, and I thought it was great... There was a message at the bottom right hand corner that said Hebrews 9:27:
Thank you so much for joining me in this week's Wednesday Walk! 🙏 Like I say, we all had a great time, but most importantly it was so refreshing to enjoy the rare day of spring weather ☀️ I cannot wait until the nice weather is here to stay! Until next time, enjoy the rest of the week
