With the warmer weather finally approaching, we have been taking as many opportunities as we can to get our little one outside in some nature! 馃槉 Yesterday we decided to venture out to Royal Botanical Gardens. It is a beautiful conservation area that features a variety of trails, and is abundant with wildlife! 馃槂 We were able to capture some amazing nature photos!

The gardens are situated on marshland. As such, it is home to many woodland animals. These include: chipmunks, squirrels, deer, ducks, and a number of different songbirds 馃檪

A woodpecker! 馃槂 This one was extremely friendly, and contemplated landing in my hand several times for some bird seed!

This swan took us by surprise as well! She was hidden behind a bridge, waiting right by the shore as we walked past. Our baby was absolutely stunned to encounter such a creature (in a good way!).

Here are two popular species of duck that you can find in Ontario, Canada. The first photo is of a male and female Mallard duck. The second photo is of the very flashy Wood duck. The male ducks are very colorful, with red heads!

We also encountered a Canadian goose who has set up a nest for her eggs!

This last encounter was very cute! 馃槃 He is a bit difficult to see, but hidden within the hole of this tree was a tiny Screech owl! The trail was busy during this time of day, and I believe he was grumpy at having been woken up from his slumber!
