International Festival of Cuban cigars.
in Havana, the annual International Cuban Cigar Festival (Habanos Cigar Festival) opens - the most important event in the life of connoisseurs and cigar smokers! Usually more than 1000 manufacturers, exporters, collectors and simply fans of the famous tobacco from 60 countries of the world participate in it. The program of the five-day festival includes exhibitions, concerts, discussions and presentations. And all this is about Cuban cigars. Various contests and auctions of tobacco products are held. Guests are offered trips to tobacco factories and plantations, as well as the opportunity to participate in seminars on a variety of topics: from the ability to produce cigars and the arts to enjoy them, until falsifications are revealed. The program provides a lunch, during which fine wines are served with certain types of cigars. Traditionally, the festival presents the latest novelties and elite brands of Cuban cigars, such as Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Juleta, Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, H.Upmann. For many years the festival was traditionally attended by Fidel Castro. In 2001, Cuba produced 153 million cigars for export. At least 70% of Cuban cigar exports are destined for the European market. As you know, cigars produced in Cuba are among the most expensive in the world.
