Festival flowers in Thailand - one of the most beautiful and impressive events in Thailand - is held annually in the north of the country, in Chiang Mai Flower Festival. The holiday begins on the first Friday of February and lasts three days.
History shows that once upon a time the city of Chiang Mai was called the "rose of the north" (Rose of the North). It was believed that this is the most beautiful city in the north of Thailand. Local residents knew the beauty of beauty - most of their lives they devoted to the cultivation of flowers. This tradition has survived to this day. And once a year, modern gardeners show their talents at the Festival of Flowers.
Much will become clear if you translate into Russian itself the name of the city, that is, the word "Chiang Mai" - it means "many flowers". There are a lot of flowers here, so much so that it's even difficult to understand where they come from. Although, in principle, it is in February, the time of flowering begins.
Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of different colors are carried through the city. The most beautiful girls sew to this event exotic national costumes - in fact at the end of the festival the most beautiful of them will be chosen. Beauty becomes the queen of flowers.
The festival is full of all sorts of fascinating events: the opening ceremony, processions, exhibitions and competitions of flower decorators, fairs, performances, elections of the beauty queen.
Birth, death, wedding, holidays and weekends, guests - all this is accompanied by lush bouquets of flowers. Spring floral representation is probably the greatest expression of this love. And here it was always like this. It is not for nothing that more than seven hundred years ago, the founders of the city called it Chiang Mai.
