Hello Hiveans! This week has been really fun, not just for the location but also the weather.
I took an opportunity to head to the river a few days before the bridge was due to open for a tall boat to go under. I took off from a different place to where I did before to get an idea of the angles I could get and what could fit in the frame.
This first image is my favourite of the lot and quite possibly the best photo from my collection. Reflections on both The Shard and Tower Bridge lounging in the sunset with moody skies above.
I was quite close to the bridge on this occasion so I chose to take a narrow panorama of the south side of the river to reduce the amount of warping in post once the pano was created.
Ideally I wanted the sun 'resting' on the horizontal structure in this shot but I couldn't quite see the screen clearly enough from looking at the sun indirectly but I'm happy with how it turned out.
This next shot I have a question about- I positioned the drone in the centre of the bridge ready for a pano. The lights on the bridge had just been illuminated which was perfect timing.
However, I'm surprised that the level of the bridge to the left, that the panorama created was slightly off? Regardless of which projection and amount of boundary warp I tried, it got worse than seen here. Maybe a little wind moved the drone slightly(?)
Slightly different issue than the previous shot. I selected two images to blend together (less than the previous image). This time everything lined up well besides the road on the bridge, which gives a comical image of a taxi driver trying their luck!
As mentioned, a few days after the flight in this post, a tall-ish paddle steamer boat was due to sail under, requiring the bridge to be opened and traffic stopped either side.
