This post is dedicated to everyone who has even jokingly called what I do "lap dancing", or waggled their eyebrows and said "Oh, your man must be so lucky!" 🙄
No, I don't "lap dance". And even if I did, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. The gorgeous women who pole dance have way more arm and core strength than I could hope for. Also, SO badass!
As for my man being "lucky", yes, he believes he is. Because I can have long conversations with him about life. Because I support him. Because I adore his family like they were my own. Because I make a mean Cinnamon-Apple cake!
I mean, seriously, do these people think I wear a sequinned bra to bed, or spontaneously shimmy on command? 🤔
Belly dance is a gorgeous and challenging art form. You wouldn't jump to conclusions if you met a Bharatnatyam or ballet dancer, why are we any different?
Treat dancers, and ALL artists, with respect. Indeed, treat everyone with respect. 🙏
