Hi everyone, not long after this gets posted, Splinterlands will start a new era whereby DEC is no longer earnable through the game and we will start winning staked SPS! This could potentially mean we could be earning heaps more depending on the value of SPS.
Merits
These past two months have seen so many updates to the game that it is hard to keep track. Lost in all of these would be getting merits in the reward chests. There obviously were some people who were very vocal against it, saying it devalues guilds. On the flip side, this meant that it was easier to get Gladius cases and level up the Gladiators. These is especially helpful for me as my guild isn’t maxed out and we struggle at times with Brawls. It also had the unintended impact on my mini account.
My mini was basically drifting around without a guild for the majority of the time until recently and did not have any Gladiators. So I was pleasantly surprised when I check that I had 2,000 Merits on my account and gladly bought my first mini Gladius case. Expectations were low as my main bought more then 10 cases and they were mediocre to say the least.
I was not expecting what I got! Getting two rares were already a good result, an epic alone would have me out of my seat. But getting a legendary on top of that was totally mind blowing. After the euphoria died down, I cried a little inside as to why this was not on my main account as the cards are bound to your account.
Conclusion
Not too sure what the conclusion here is, but I am not trying to do a shit post or brag about my luck. I think with all the changes happening in Splinterlands with rewards, game mechanics and a million other things, we need to have faith in the Splinterlands team that they are trying to do things in our interest. We just need to be patient and let things play out.
