Hey guys how is your splinterlands matches been going? I am gonna share an amazing modern ranked battle with all of you. I wanted to play frontier but I needed to increase my ratings in modern so I went with that at first.
As you can see I chose to go with the Wood Modern I bracket division for the whole ranked season. So I started to play battles into Division 9. And this was my last match.

So it was a pretty interesting battle because I got myself a different element and summoner. So both of us had the freedom to play strong magic and melee cards. Since the ruleset was Standard there was no additional modifiers that could buff or nerf certain cards. So it was necessary to bring cards with great stats and high damage potential.
I decided to go with Marlai Singariel as my summoner. Reason I choose her is because she gives +1 magic attack to all my magic units at the start of the battle. Also I want to create a new lineup for that reason I need to experiment every combo.

6th position: Saltwater Mage
How the Battle Went
My enemy's name was NYOGGOTHAR. The battle has started and we both summoned our teams into the arena.
As the battle has started the first initiative went to my summoner Marlai gave +1 Magic Attack ability to all my magic attack units. The extra magic power was super helpful as it allowed my team to deal heavy magic damage straight through enemy armor.
On the front line Port Guardian was playing his part by soaking up enemy attacks while Colossus Raider supported from second position using Reach.
Later in the battle the two teams started dealing massive amounts of damage to each other. The battle was back and forth but my magic damage advantage along with the proper positioning gave me the advantage over the enemy.
In the later rounds of the battle my enemy’s cards started dying one by one. My Saltwater Mage was also dealing great damage from the backline using her Sneak ability while Vengeful Monk hit targets with Opportunity.
It wasn't a tough one but it was intense and my team was powerful against my enemy in the battle and that is why we won. Also becsuse I could fully use my summoners ability. The battle ended and I gained 20 ratings with 81 glint and my whole rating is now 160, two days ago it was 20 only.
Looking Ahead
It was another Modern ranked battle for me and again I managed to get the win. I was able to choose the right cards which lead to success. Other than that I noticed no matter how many times I lost a match my ratings would not decrease and I love this new update in game. I think now I can enjoy battles without worrying about losing my ratings.
