Springtime for me involves transitions. The ending of the school year, and the nurturing of new plantings. A favorite from the latter is strawberries, ripened on the vine, tempting and sweet.
I have a small patch. As a result, there may be one berry every few days or so, but when a berry does mature it becomes a centerpiece for celebrating simple pleasures. This beauty would up sliced and served with some cheese, crackers and a crisp pinot gris.
