Auckland city is one of constant change. It is one of significant growth and it is being designed to grow even faster than ever before. It is a hot pot of cultures, we have many Asians, especially Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Korean and also many from South Africa and Australia and in recent times you often hear voices speaking Spanish, probably since we started having direct flights to South America.
They are building many apartments and a lot of them are much smaller than Kiwis would live in, so most Kiwis live in the suburbs where we grew up on 1012 square meter sections, although a lot of them have been cut into half or thirds.
They are building an underground metro through the city as a link between various transport systems and to move people up and down the city from the 90 or so new high rise buildings which are under development, that will have significantly less carparks than the number of people that live and work in them, while they build huge dormitory suburbs 10's of kilometers from the city, who will have to commute into the city and surrounds.
The walls are made of glass or other shiny materials and provide an interesting backdrop for photographers as the weather changes, the sun comes up and goes down.
