Hello fellow hivers. Today's #WednesdayWalk by @tattoodjay, I'll be taking you around a mall in Ormoc City.
Malls are one of the places I love to go to when I am in a big city. It is my standard of a BIG city. Some cities in the Philippines don't have malls and when I visit one, I am like, " where is the MALL? And if I don't find one, I'd question it's being a city. 馃槅馃槅. Typical "probinsyana mindset"; Malls make a city. 馃榿
I love strolling inside a mall. As you enter, the atmosphere suddenly shifts from polluted , noisy and hot weather of the outside to a cool, fragrant smelling with soothing music to the ear inside the mall. I love it's sparkling lights and decors. I love the glass-walled stores and the big mall displays. I like how organized malls are.
My mall visit at Ormoc City happened to be part of an important transaction I had with Professional Regulations Commision (PRC). I needed to get some of my documents authenticated and the nearest PRC office is located in Robinson's Mall in Ormoc City . Thankfully, they chose this place so we won't suffer from heat exhaustion. Back in the days we only had one PRC office in Leyte which was located in Tacloban City, three hours travel from my hometown. And during the time when online appointment was not the SOP, doing transactions with PRC was the worst thing ever!
My transaction with PRC took me only 5 to 10 minutes. I travelled two hours here and I was done in minutes. How cool and convenient was that! Kudos to PRC for this innovation. It saves us time and energy. This really made me smile that I didn't have to go through an exhausting processing of my documents.
Since I was done, I decided to have my lunch first before going home. It was almost 12 noon so people were flocking to fast food chains iside the mall. When I saw Mang Inasal, my stomach rumbled. Mang Inasal is one of the popular fast food chains that serves delicious chiken and pork inasal. I could imagine the delicous chicken inasal and sizzling sisig they offer. I really love the food in Mang Inasal but when the crew asked for my order, she asked me if I could wait for 30 minutes before the food will be served since the place was full. But I was too hungry, I just let go of my cravings. 馃槬.
I ended up eating at Chowking which serves equally yummy food.
Since I my stomach was full, I thought of burning a few calories by walking around the mall before heading to the bus terminal. It is not always that I come to visit the mall so I was thinking why not stroll around and enjoy the airconditioned building 馃槅.
These huge flower pots planted with ornamental plants caught my attention. It's refreshing to see plants inside a mall. It adds more life to the ambiance of the place.
It was just October when I came here and I can already feel the magic of the Christmas season. Indeed Christmas is in the air with their huge and colorful Christmas tree standing tall in the hall and the gliterring series lights on the railings. I guess they will be adding more decors in the coming ber months. It will surely attract more people to come here if they do it.
How about attracting a little luck with these charms and crystals. If you believe in feng shui then probably you'll love these products. It is one of the Chinese influence to the Filipino culture. A stall had a display of these products in the mall. I was just checking it out especially the bracelets. I love the different colors of the stones. Even if you don't believe in feng shui you will still be attracted to these charmed bracelets. It would be a nice little gift to your loved ones this Christmas season.
I passed by Dunkin Donuts store and Kim So Hyun was standing outside. He looked real huh! How I wish he was real. 馃槅. I should come inside and dine in for some donut so we could have a donut date. 馃槅馃槅
This ice cream statue at the food court looked cute. Good strategy to attract people to eat especially when you are with your children. They'll probably think they sell icecream here.
This is where I had my documents photocopied. Not a good idea to have you documents photocopied inside a store in a mall. They will you charge you double or triple of the price compared to the price outside. Better have your documents photocopied if you intend to be frugal.
After walking around the mall, my feet hurt so I rested for a while. They have this cute chairs scattered around the hallway.
After resting for a while I decided to buy "pasalubong" for my children and will be heading home. I got confused as to where the exit was. Good thing this isn't a very huge mall so I could easily find my way to the exit. If this was in Cebu, like in SM mall or Ayala Mall then I' be lost. 馃槅
The scenery at the hallway outside the mall was a stunner. I love the lanscaping with beautiful trees aligned in front of the mall. I love the plants along the hallway. It adds that natural countryside beauty to a sophisticated building in the city.
That conclude my Wednesday walk. I hope you had a wonderful day and a relaxing Wednesday walk.
