Hello, fungi lovers! This is my first time posting in this community and this is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw.
It's a wet Friday as Tropical Storm Paeng pours its wrath into this part of the Philippines. It's been raining cats and dogs since last night flooding the low-lying areas. This morning the rain stopped for a while giving us a chance to do stuff we needed to do outside. I headed to the market so I can stack more supplies in case the situation get worse.
I happened to pass by a pile of wood and see different kinds of mushrooms growing on this pile wood. The wet weather make these mushrooms look more lively and vibrant.
You can notice already different mushrooms of different sizes growing in the woods.
I photographed each kind to see it more closely, admiring the beauty of these wonderful creations.
The Ears
This mushroom is the largest in the pile. It looks like a human ear. I love the all-white color of this one.
I don't know the names of these mushrooms. I googled their names but I just couldn't get the right answers I needed. I don't want to give the wrong information here.
This one looks similar to the first one but it has a different color. It is brown and white stripes. The edges of the mushroom are brown.
This one looks similar to the other mushroom but I noticed a slight color difference. The edge is white instead of brown.
A dark-brown mushroom is camouflaged in its environment. You'll hardly notice it but if you look more closely they are as beautiful as the other mushrooms.
The Flowers
White mushroom shaped like a flower, a white rose in particular.
Of all the mushrooms in the wood pile, this one is the most unique. It has a gel-like appearance and it is transparent.
There goes my Friday appreciating the beauty of fungi and its role in the environment. Where life ends, a new life begins.
