When Sunday is coming to an end I remember that a few years ago these moments were the hardest for me. The thought of another weekend coming to an end, as everything in this world comes to an end, made me sad and I felt the stress that I had been trying to get rid of creeping up on me again. This was when I still had to work for money...
Now I'm at the point where the money is coming in without me having to work for it. Because I worked for it for more than 40 years and now some of it is coming back to me in the form of a pension!
But I was left with this fear when Sunday ended and the worst day of the week, Monday, followed. Then I remember that even Monday can be like Sunday for me. That's why I often don't know what day of the week it is.
The end of Sunday, however, implies an obligation for me. An obligation assumed and sometimes fulfilled. At the suggestion of @c0ff33a, who proposes #sublimesunday, and
@ace108, who proposes #beautifusunday I try to make a little reference to how I spent Sunday, especially if something special happened. Usually, there is something worth reporting but this Sunday I stayed at home. Because of this, the following is a rather personal story and probably uninteresting to others, as I bring nothing of value, except maybe a few photos that I like.
A flower can beautify anything. Garden, yard, house... This summer, unfortunately, has been and still is very hot, it seems to be the hottest summer ever and this has led, together with the lack of rain, to a prolonged drought. This drought, with all my effort to water the yard as much as possible, has taken a toll on all the plants.
A few flowers however have held up well and it was my pleasure this Sunday to photograph them. Most of these are potted plants.
This is myrtle. Bought last year, now blooming for the first time. I would have liked it to make more flowers but I'm glad to have seen these too.
I didn't know the name of this flower. I turned to Google and found out that it is called Asclepias curassavica, with the popular name of "tropical milk"!
Hydrangea. I bought it a few days ago because I didn't have this color in my garden.
A surprise visit from my son. He loves barbecue. I made a barbecue for him.
I also made a salad that I love, a warm and very spicy salad. I grilled cheese, mushrooms, zucchini, bell peppers, celery, and chilies. I chopped all the ingredients into small pieces, then put olive oil, salt and lemon juice.
Even if it doesn't happen every weekend, a barbecue is still, in Romanian culture and way of life, a commonplace thing. I can't say that this barbecue made this day special.
Something else happened, something rarely seen this summer that really made this Sunday special. It rained! A short and heavy rain. I didn't think of photographing this but the flowers will help me prove it.
Rain! I've seen it so rarely this summer. The rain made for a Sublime Sunday!
My belief is that every day we live is sublime! Many, many times we don't realize it. The smaller or bigger problems are the obstacles that prevent us from understanding that life is beautiful all the time, that every day we live is sublime. As we get older, this becomes more and more obvious, unless forgetfulness takes over our brains.
