I was reminded of a saying now that spring is well anchored in the reality of our lives, of course, those of us who live in four-season geographies.

It says: "One flower does not make a spring"! It's a saying that derives from Latin, where it sounds something like this: "Una hirundo non facit primavera", meaning: A bird does not make spring!

I know that this saying exists in several languages with Latin origins: Italian, and French, where the bird variant remains. In Romanian, also a Latin language, the bird has been replaced by the flower.

Beyond the necessary and unavoidable subjectivism, I am Romanian, I think the flower version is better.

And yet, this proverb does not refer to spring.

It is a call for perseverance.

We don't have to be satisfied when we solve just one problem. We have to solve them all to get the result we want.

It was just a digression to justify the flowers to come.

Spring, of course, is not just about a flower. Spring knows this very well and gives us countless flowers.

Spring has come earlier than we are used to. It came with warm weather, sunshine, rain, warmth, and water - everything vegetation needs to thrive.

My little backyard gives me the joy of flowers every spring and proves that spring is made with lots of flowers. The first plants to appear and bloom are the perennials.
Which I love the most!

The first flowering is the most spectacular.

After hibernating for several months, almost to death, returning to life comes with a great desire to look its best.

The tender new leaves are as spectacular as the flowers.

Pansies are the undisputed stars of early spring. We planted them in autumn. They have been sitting quietly under the snow which did them no harm and now they are laughing in the sun!

Red means life.
Spring means the victory of life.

Always a flower!

This post is for the one who created this tag, #alwaysaflower. Our colleague Denise, dswigle@dswigle. I think many miss her. She has taken a break from Hive that I hope will end. Because what season but spring is better for comebacks?
