When it comes to black and white, I really like leafless trees that draw almost calligraphic shapes in the sky. In the middle of a park in the city is a very small island. Artificial, of course. A small round island occupied only by trees. The space being so small, the trees crowded into each other to find a little space under the sun.
Because I was used to seeing in black and white and because I was still walking through a big and beautiful park, I thought of looking more closely at the trees.
Because I usually look at the trees from the bottom up, I decided to look at them more closely and from my eyes this time. I wanted to get rid of this inferiority complex that you usually have when you sit next to a tree and feel so small!
Looking more closely at the bottom of the trees, the thick trunk and cracked bark, I saw that it resembles some elephant feet and the roots, with some scattered toes that mix with the ground.
When I look at these thick legs, I expect them to come off the ground and walk towards me, like in a horror movie. I probably saw such a movie and this image remained hidden somewhere in my brain.
I need to think of something friendlier. To some birds that are attached to these trees. Pigeons!
However, the idyllic image of the pigeons cannot drive the toes of the trees out of my mind. Like snakes. I remember photographing an olive tree with visible roots on the Greek island of Thassos.
Olive trees can live for thousands of years, just the other day I saw on TV how an olive tree older than three thousand years burned on a Greek island. Incredible!
