Happy Thanksgiving!

I live only a mile or two from the Original Landing site of the Pilgrims. They first sighted land, in American when they came across Cape Cod Bay. They spent their first winter aboard the ship, moored off my town and Provincetown. They came ashore to hunt, and gather, spent nights aboard ship. Finally, they made some friends, with the locals, Payomet, and Wampanoag.

The tribe taught them farming maize, gathering cranberries, hunting the local birds, deer, and basic survival here in America. As a gift, thanks, really, the colonists hosted a feast, that first year, for their friends. Also, they tuaght them to play American Football after the big meal.
