What's Your Addiction?

I guess who so ever reads this knows what an addiction is.

Better still:

An addiction is an habit, lifestyle, act or need that can not be controlled or rather is believed by the addicted person to be an uncontrollable desire...

A more professional definition by Dictionary.com below;

The state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

When addiction is being spoken about, it's mostly channelled to drugs but that alone isn't what we are checking out in this post.

So my question; WHAT IS YOUR ADDICTION?

Answers to the questions above wouldn't probably be far from;

  • Browsing
  • gaming
  • betting
  • social networking
  • Pornography and more.
    After all we are in the computer age...

Citing an example;

Many teens and young adults could sit, and watch their thumbs go numb caring little for it until their phone goes off. In my country, that leads to series of electricity hunting. Self destruction I guess.

THE CRAZY THINGS ABOUT ADDICTION

Trust me, right now, it's so hard to come in contact with a youth that's without an addiction.

It isn't healthy but what can we do?

Give excuses! No matter how flimsy they may be...

I keep telling myself on behalf of myself, you and all addicts that it's unhealthy!!!

But who cares?

We'd rather make the mistake and regret than correct the error and make amends.

We know it's Stupid but we can't help it.

Is it bigger than we can imagine?

We will procrastinate and think of an excuse to cover up for our addiction.

We can fight it but we feel we can't because we are too lazy to fight it...

We complain about an addiction and do absolutely nothing to stop it.

Why go to a doctor when you know you wouldn't abide by his prescriptions?

To fulfil all righteousness I guess...

Although, Health Personnels have procure several medications to overcoming addiction, the greatest solution to fighting and getting rid of an addiction is one's own ready trial. Addiction isn't a sickness that drugs can cure but it is an issue which houses its cure in one's mindset.

You alone, with probably a little support can fight your addiction;

Unless one makes up his/her mind to overcome an addiction, the helper helps in vain.

So, what is it that you are addicted to and readily want to stop?

If you've got an addiction, I hope you Conquer your addiction soon.

I am fighting mine seriously.
