Introduction to HTML

The first thing I read on this page was that HTML is a simple language to understand. HTML language is made up of elements.
As I read the Introduction to HTML it went over some prerequisites and it gave a list of guides that I would also have to review while studying HTML on their website. The guide had these sites listed:
 Getting Started with HTML
 What’s the head? Metadata in HTML
 HTML Text Fundamentals
 Creating Hyperlinks
 Advanced Text Formatting
 Document and Website Structure
 Debugging HTML

HTML is not a programming language; it is a markup language that defines the structure of your content.

In this lesson of HTML Basics I learned more about the main parts of an element and elements of an attributes. It also showed me what an attribute should have. An element can (in my opinion) be basically called a tag.
I don’t want to confuse the two terms because that is just my opinion.
An element inside other elements is called nesting. When you open multiple tags make sure to close them in the reverse order you opened them. That is how you properly close a nested tag. An element that has no content is considered an empty element.

This lesson went over the basic set-up of an HTML document. It went over marking up text, headings, paragraphs, lists and links.
