Hello to everyone @needleworkmonday community
I am so excited to be here,i didn't know that it will be possible for me to make this post because i came back late.
The weather wasn't friend and my phone camera couldn't pick some bright pictures.
But am glad to be here at least i was able to snap a little i could.
Creativity is one of the most rewarding skills anyone can possess.Today, I decided to make this lovely handmade knitted earring using blue and peach-coloured wool. The process was enjoyable, relaxing, and exciting because I watched a few strands of wool gradually become a fashionable piece of jewelry.
Here are the materials i used: Knitting pin, scissors, peach and blue colour wool.
Step one
The first step was selecting my materials. I chose a bright blue wool as the main colour because it is attractive.I made a small loose knot with the blue wool. I intentionally left the knot loose because it would serve as the foundation of the circular design. This tiny loop was very important because every other stitch would be built around it.
Next step
After creating the loose knot, I took my knitting pin and carefully inserted it through the hole I had made. This step required patience and precision because the knitting pin would help me create the stitches that formed the body of the earring. Once the pin was in place, I pulled out the other part of the wool that I had wrapped around my finger. This allowed me to create my first stitch and begin the knitting process.
Next, I started knitting around the circle. Stitch after stitch, I worked carefully around the loose knot until I reached the starting point again. At this stage, the circular shape of the earring was beginning to emerge.
When I reached the starting point, I gently pulled the wool tightly. This caused the loose center to close up and become firm and compact.
The circle was no longer loose; instead, it had become neat and secure.I continued knitting around it again, repeating the same process as before.
I continued building the design by adding more layers. One round after another, I carefully knitted around the circle, ensuring that every stitch was even and well-arranged.
Next step
In total, I created five additional layers using the blue wool. Each layer increased the size of the earring and gave it a beautiful textured appearance. As the layers expanded outward, the earring became more noticeable
For the sixth and final layer, I decided to introduce a new colour. I changed from the blue wool to a peach-coloured wool. I chose peach because I felt it blended beautifully with blue. The soft peach border created a striking contrast. This combination made the finished piece stand out even more.
Next stage
The final stage was assembling the earring. After completing the knitting work, I carefully secured the loose ends of the wool to prevent the stitches from loosing.
I then took a pair of earring hooks and fixed them firmly onto the knitted circles. I ensured that the hooks were tightly attached but it had already gotten dark.
I manage to take some pictures but i am glad i tried something today
Thank you
