I don’t remember the day that I got my drivers license. Like...at all. I just remember a time where I didn’t drive and then a time where I did. It was only a little over 20 years ago and I seriously have zero recollection of that specific moment. That’s a bit strange to me as I never really thought about it until now. I wonder what other big moments I have wiped clean from my memory over the years...
Anyway, this post isn’t about my fleeting memory but more of a congratulatory post for my daughter Clover, as she did what she thought was impossible...getting her drivers license. She was paranoid as hell with parallel parking. My wife took her out for most of her drives and I helped her practice the parking. She ended up passing with flying colors and we couldn’t be happier...as now we can send her on errands to get milk and shit like that. 😜
In all seriousness, this is a huge moment for her and I’m proud. This year is full of moments like that as she enters her senior year in high school. Graduation is around the corner, drives license, obtains a more serious job, and what’s going on right now which is her first time in Europe!
Yeah! Her and about 10 other classmates with several supervising adults are making the trek to several countries to absorb cultures and learn of the past. They left yesterday and are currently in Berlin where they will spend the next couple of days before heading to Warsaw, followed by Krakow, then finally departing back to the states from Prague.
I’m excited that she’s hitting up Krakow as that’s where about 300 of us met last year for Steemfest!!! I told her all about the city and I hope they venture near where we stayed. The group will also head to Auschwitz which was a tremendous experience that I’m glad she will partake in. I’m glad I had that experience as well. I’d like to think that I’ll remember that experience forever but I can’t even recall the day I got my drivers license so no promises.
Either way, congrats to my girl. I’m proud of you and I hope you soak up all that this trip had to offer. Enjoy it now...because when you return, we have lots of errands for you to run!
