Gladys' birthday is around the corner and she has decided to do something different from what they usually do. Before the big day, Henry, her fiance, asked if they would celebrate at Ferris Spot as usual, but she said, "This is my 23rd birthday, dear. I think I need to try something different this year. In fact, I want to go to Kafanchan where I can appreciate and admire nature." Henry replied, "It's your day, Angel, and your wish is my command."
Very early in the morning, the couple drove off to Alaska Garden and then climbed to the mountain top. There was a local restaurant near the mountainside where people relax after the stress of the climb.
As they climbed to the mountain top, Henry, being a geography teacher, shared his love for physical geography by explaining different types of rocks and other features to her in a romantic way. Gladys and Henry really had fun and what made Gladys' day was the promise made by Henry that in her next birthday, she would be called Mrs. Henry. On hearing that, Gladys' appetite for food came and they both headed towards the restaurant for refreshments.
They were carried away by the atmospheric excitement and forgot the distance back home. At 6:15 pm, one of the waiters approached them and said, "Sir, please note that the closing time here is 6 pm." Immediately, Henry panicked and said to Gladys, "Baby, how do we go home, considering my sight and the bad road?" Gladys then asked the waiter if there was any nearby guesthouse, and he responded, "No ma'am, I guess you people are from far away."
Henry opened up to the waiter to see how he could help them, but the waiter said he was squatting with a friend of his, and the only help he could render was to alert the village security men of their presence so they could be called in case of any eventuality since they came in a good van that looked like a house. Henry looked at Gladys and said, "Dear, we will spend the night here, for prevention is better than cure. We will leave tomorrow morning by God's grace. Are you scared?" She replied, "With you by my side, I am okay." The security men assured them of their safety and instructed them to use the car lights to scare away wild animals in the environment that night.
