It's a new month; instead of the usual 'goals stack' that sometimes stays unaccomplished, here is what I would do differently this month.

Instead of piling on more unrealistic goals, I will reflect on what I didn’t complete in the past few months and focus on those, driving with intentionality.

Here are 5 simple strategies I will employ:

  1. I will set clear and concise goals.
Instead of proposing to read 15 books, I will aim for 1.

  2. I will imbibe a writing culture instead of just making mental notes. Written goals stick better. It has a way of reminding my mind, ' Hey, you've got work to do!'

  3. I will make a working plan.
If I'm to finish a 240-page book, I will read 10 pages a day. And by the 24th, I should be done with it.

  4. I will reward myself.
I will celebrate my wins by going on a solo date, a yogurt treat, or doing whatever gives me joy.

  5. I will stay accountable.
I will share my progress with a human accountability partner or with my journal, keeping track of what worked, what didn’t, and how to adjust.
