A coin has two sides!
Today I saw a butterfly I didn't have the opportunity to see so far, at least I thought so in those moments. Of course I immediately followed him to make a few photos, but this time it was not that simple.
All this activity required a lot of creeping, kneeling, laying on the grass and earth. I went back three times in the same place to make better photos, because previous attempts were very unsuccessful.
Almost every time I approached him, the butterfly would fly off. I had to have photos of this beauty, and the price of that satisfaction was to be more in the dust.
Returning home, I did basic research on this kind of butterfly, what I found out shocked me, I learned that I already know this kind of butterfly but in another form.
This butterfly is called Map (Lat. Araschnia levana) and belongs to the family Nymphalidae. It has two forms, the spring form is what you see now and appears only in the first generation (the color and pattern of its wings), while the summer form, ie, the second generation is completely different (the red color is replaced by black, while the patterns are white and red).
The second-generation form is very well known to me because I had countless times the opportunity to see it. In a bunch of photos I've done so far, it's very hard for me to find these photos right now to show you. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until the summer for some new photos of this beauty.
