I learned one very important lesson long time ago: 'Don't touch anything you are not sure is safe for touch'! I spend a lot of my free time in the nature, approximately 2 - 3 hours per day, sometimes even more. I like to wandering around, constantly I'm in searching for something and when I found that something, I take a picture of it!
In nature bright and strong colors means something, usually they are some kind of warning, sign for danger, so If you don't know to read those signs you can very easy ended up in deep troubles, even a deadly trouble!!!
As everyday and today I came to meadow where I usually comes in my search for butterflies. Before I came here I also visited several other places just to check out If show up something new.
Just after I made 20 steps, I noticed some bright red creature on wildflower. It immediately attracted all my attention. I approached closer to it, I know it was some kind of moth, but I never saw it before!
Later after I came back to home I found out that was a moth called "Six-spot burnet" (Lat. Zygaena filipendulae) it belong to the family of Zygaenidae. Also I found out that this species is 'toxic talented', and according to wikipedia: "It is an aposematic moth because it is distinguished by its colors as toxic to predators like birds and lizards. If attacked it emits a liquid containing cyanide."
My first reaction was: WHAT CYANIDE!!! I tried to remember did I touch it?! No, thanks God! I was all the time close to it, following wherever it flew, or landed on flowers, but I never touched it. I must admit I was in temptation to do so, just look at it, it's so beautiful moth. It was so interesting to observe it while he fly, feed etc.
