For some unknown reason I have always loved mirrors and all kinds of reflections, mostly those in water. Don't get me wrong I'm not a narcissistic person, I just love to see what's on the other side of the reflection. Although it is very difficult to identify our appearance ie. our outward appearance with our insides our true self.
Artificial or natural mirrors are really magical, they make us obsessive, we admire what we see and that mirror. I mostly observe the nature that is in sight for me. I constantly crave some larger water surfaces, a calm day and perfect reflection, really great prerequisites for a good photo!
We are all witnessing that the modern lifestyle simply imposes some kind of narcissism, just look at many social platforms and you will be clear, everyone striving to portray yourself in the best possible light! Although the reality is nowhere near the one shown. I don't like all that madness.
Photography should show reality, if something is beautiful then it is beautiful enough without any need for additional beautification. I understand that people have a need to present themselves or something as well as possible, but over-embellishment is overkill and unnecessary, at least for me!
Things should be as they are, whether they please our subjective thinking and our desire to present something more beautiful than it is. I have no problem with slight edits and adjustments to the photo. Again, don't get me wrong I have nothing against photo editing software and I use them myself regularly!
Our eye sees things in a lot more pixels than modern cameras have, and sometimes it's very difficult to understand how our taken photos don't look like what we saw with our own eyes. Regardless of all the reflections are something wonderful and needed for many reasons, I'm sure each of you has it for yourself!
