In the afternoon I went for my regular walk. In addition to the canals, many acacia trees grow, and at their low branches can usually be seen Admiral, a species of butterfly, which is very common in these areas. This year I noticed that the number of this species is very small compared to previous years, which is the reason for the reduced number of this butterfly I don't know.
I realized long ago that the Admiral was one of the most friendly butterflies. Other species also happen to land on humans, but this is not a common occurrence, while the Admiral is just specific by this strange habit.
While walking I noticed one butterfly sunbathing on a nearby tree branch, I slowly approached him and took some photos, but soon another specimen of a butterfly appeared, which upset this one. I watched them as they flew around, when the butterfly was finally left alone and by his flight maneuvers I realized that he was preparing to land again, I reached out my hand and waited patiently for the outcome!
After several unsuccessful attempts, the butterfly finally landed on my arm. I have quite a lot of experience with this type of butterfly and we have been hanging out a lot over the last years. Occasionally a butterfly would fly in and make a few laps because it would see someone else butterflies, but after a while it would land again on my arm or on a nearby branch.
It is really fascinating for me at least, that it is possible to approach the butterfly so close and even hold it in your hand without bothering him at all. After spending some time together in that weird game, I went home while the butterfly remained in their natural environment where it belonged. In the end, I can only confirm that the Admiral is indeed the most friendly butterfly I have ever met!
