Lil Metal Series : Nickel

We got nickel in the house, the lil metal series that gets forgotten is almost done after this we just got one more! Sorry about the shit pic quality recently been more focused on the words no one reads 😉

Half the reason nickel’s even famous is cause they slapped its name on a coin that barely even uses the stuff. The Canadian nickel you flip for coffee? It’s, like… mostly steel these days. Not even a solid nickel eh That's how it goes branding beats reality every time.

Nickel itself? Shiny, silver looking but low key it’ll wear on you, literally. Goes hard in making stuff last outside (think anti rust), so you see it deep in stainless steel, cookware, anything built to not go crusty in the rain. Wanted something not to corrode? Probably has nickel inside.

Wild thing plants can literally suck up a chunk of it. Not a joke some plants store so much nickel in their leaves it’d mess you up if you tried munching them. Meanwhile, humans? Need it, but don’t eat salad straight off a mining site. Too much you’re down for the count. Makes you wonder what else those plants are up to, right?

Nickel’s big with the electric crowd—think car batteries EV dreams all the “save the world” pitches. But yeah, most of it? Still just whacked into steel for bridges and buildings. Real world shows what matters not what’s trending this week.

Oh and want something random? The stuff’s magnetic sorta. Not as clingy as iron but weird enough to pull a trick on your fridge magnet collection. Give that a go if you’re bored.

So next time you see “nickel shortage panic” or some guy telling you to hoard nickels? Relax, dawg. It’s everywhere, doing work nobody posts about. Just a metal. Pretty cool, pretty normal. That's it.
