Here is another tip to keep your kitchen knives in shape: use the bottom of a cup to sharpen your blade. The ring at the bottom is usually harder than the metal and lime the blade, creating a new edge.

Say you make soup and add too much salt. Obviously, soup is ruined, right? False! Just drop a raw peeled potato. It will absorb a good amount of salt.
